MIXTAPE: Mickey Monday x MΔVERICK

When he’s not busy crafting various illustrations for the Federal government or living the vicarious free-spirited life of a twenty-something, Michael Harris somehow finds the time to rap and produce his own music under the alias Mickey MONDAY. The project started as a hobby between Michael and a couple of his friends. After receiving such positive criticism from his younger peers, Michael then decided to work on perfecting his craft. Michael released his first record [under the moniker MARS] entitled “All Work \ No Play” in October 2010 displaying his lyricism over the popular tracks “Power,” “Light Up,” “Live Fast, Die Young,” and “Monster.” Throughout this period Michael made various appearances to open mics to display his talent. After being discovered at the Bohemian Caverns in NW Washington D.C. he was signed to close friend 431’s independent label Classic Era Records. The next following year he released “The World of MARS EP” [under Classic Era.] Rapping over estranged producers Flying Lotus Slakah the Beat Child and Samiyam beats. In 2012 Following the 1 year anniversary of his EP, Michael dropped the moniker “MARS” and moved to a more down to earth stage name; Mickey MONDAY. Creating the tagline “Everyday is a MONDAY.” With the change of a name also came the revised project entitled “MARS EP” which contained edited tracks from the previous installment and newly recorded tracks with Flying Lotus lending his production. Within a 3-year span Michael has diligently been working on his highly anticipated digital LP called “MAVERICK.” Production credits include: Johnny Juliano, Cardo, Chemist and NOVA. This project was released under Classic Era Records and Chalupe Gang Collective Group. His single “MONDAY” has been doing well…so support and download the entire tape below:
