When did you both decide that you wanted to be rappers?

A: I’m a comedian, and I decided I wanted to be a comedian when I was eight years old watching old Saturday Night Live episodes. I never decided to be a rapper because I’m not a rapper.
R: But he hangs with cool-ass rappers.
A: I’ve been lucky enough to chill out with rappers because of my love for rap music.
R: Hanging out at an arcade and they had a big-ass screen on the wall. Some fine chicks walked in and they had biker shorts on. I was in fourth or fifth grade at the time, and I was like, “Damn, these are the finest chicks I’ve ever seen.” I just saw the way they reacted to Big Daddy Kane when “The Symphony” came on. I started doing the flattop right there. [Laughter.]

MAGAZINE: Zoe Kravitz | BlackBook

Zoë Kravtiz is featured in BlackBook magazine’s latest April 2011 issue. Here are some excerpts from her interview. Look inside for more of her spread…

On being known as the daughter of a Lenny Kravitz & Lisa Bonet, and a budding fashion darling:

“It’s a compliment, I guess, that people think I dress cool, but I think I dress like a f*****’ weirdo. I don’t want to be ‘the daughter of… ’ who wears cool clothes and goes out. I want to be known as an actress—hopefully that will happen soon.”

On why she almost didn’t audition for X-Men: First Class:

“My agent had to make me go because it was such a big movie, so I thought there was no way I was going to get it. Oddly, whenever I just go for shits and giggles, I end up booking the part. It’s exactly how I gotMad Max: Fury Road.”

On her new film Yelling To The Sky with Gabourey Sidibe:

“A lot of people started comparing it to Precious. It really freaked me out and made me kind of sad. It made me feel like people weren’t watching the film. They see Gabby, artistic shots, and brown people, and suddenly it’s Precious. I don’t care how much I’m in the movie, as long as I care about the character.”

MAGAZINE: Odd Future x Vice

Terry Richardson was the photographer for Odd Future’s feature in Vice Magazine. There feature includes the question posed “What makes the best pet?” and they give the answer. Check the rest of the individual photos inside…

Which is a better pet? A turtle, table, or steak?

Some turtles are really fucking evil. They want to take over the world and keep all the water to themselves. I recently saw this documentary called Rango, with some nigga named Johnny Depp narrating it, explaining how corrupt land turtles are. Sea turtles are usually cool (example: Finding Nemo), but those land muthafuckas are shit. Look at Super Mario—they tried to kill the princess! And Bowser is a big-ass stank nigga. So, no, overall turtles don’t make good pets. They will try to kill you in your sleep and doo-doo in your sneakers.

Tables are really nice. They listen to your worries, hold things for you, and you can boo-boo on them and they will not complain. The first table I had was named Hemphrey. He couldn’t speak English too well, but Hemphrey was the nicest table I’d ever met. He died from a heroin overdose. So, yes, tables make great pets, just keep cool shit like heroin away from them.

Steak. So good. Well-done steaks are well mannered. Raw steaks are just like the people who eat them. Musty. So, steaks can be good or musty pets. Choose one and choose wisely.

Overall, tables are the coolest pets.

Golf Wang, bitch!

MAGAZINE: Chris Brown | Page Six

Chris Brown was featured in Page Six magazine for their March 10th issue. Check out some excerpts from his interview:

About being humble:

“People kind of get clouded, and then when they get up to the top,
they kind of lose a bit of themselves and they’re not as humble. So
knowing how it can be taken away and given back and taken away again,
it kind of just taught me to be focused.”

About his new record, F.A.M.E. (for Forgiving All My Enemies):

“Fame is what everybody seeks. I get an adrenaline rush from it. But
fame is basically love and hate all in one. Without bad there is no
good, without good there is no bad. Everybody who dissed me now wants
to say ‘Hey.’ They wanna get on the record. They wanna let me back in
the door. The last two years, everybody dissed me. But my fans were so
dedicated. The way I look at it is, you can’t walk around mad, because
then you just prove everybody right that you’re an angry person. So
‘F.A.M.E.’ means ‘Forgiving All My Enemies,’ and also ‘Fans Are My
Everything.’ I’m dedicating it to my fans.”
