People are Blown After Seeing ‘Avatar’
Did Avatar blow you, too?
Avatar Review
![]()
James Cameron’s Avatar is finally out, and I can honestly say that this is the best movie of the year, hands down.
![]()
A deep story, over-the-top action, the best special effects I’ve ever seen, and excellent performances from actors like Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, and Zoe Saldana, makes a ticket for this film worth every penny. I recommend seeing it in IMAX 3D if you can, because the 3D and sound in the IMAX theater adds much to the experience, without being gimmicky like other 3D movies.

The film has already been nominated for 4 Golden Globes, including Best Motion Picture – Drama, and I expect it to receive many Academy Awards as well, including Best Picture. Go see it.

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus was the movie Heath Ledger was working on before his untimely death. This work was finished, however, by three A-list actors Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell, and Jude Law. The story is kind of confusing to tell the truth, so I won’t try to explain it. It definitely looks interesting nonetheless. Just watch the trailer after the jump. (more…)
Precious

Precious is a film promoted by Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey about an overweight, illiterate teenager Clareece “Precious” Jones, living in 1980′s Harlem with her dysfunctional family. And when I say dysfunctional family, I mean a mother who verbally and physically abuses her, and a father who rapes and has impregnated her twice. Yeah, thats bad. The movie stars Mo’Nique as the mother, Mariah Carey as a social worker, Paula Patton as a teacher, and Lenny Kravitz as a nurse.
I think this movie is the must-see film of the year. There are already discussions of nominating the film for Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Supporting Actress (Mo’Nique), and Best Actress (Gabourey Sidibe, who plays Precious). Peep the trailer after the jump.

Michael Jackson’s “This is It” (Trailer)

Not long after his death, a summation of practice footage has together and is being shown in theaters to his fans for only 2 weeks! However, I think this will be a movie people won’t mind paying a few bucks to see. My opinion and the trailer after the jump.
Gentlemen Broncos

From the director of the beloved Napoleon Dynamite comes another comedy, Gentlemen Broncos. The film tells the story of a young writer dealing with another more famous, experienced writer stealing his idea for a book. The style of the movie looks alot like that of Napoleon Dynamite, and it looks to be just as funny. Check out the trailer after the jump. (more…)

Youth In Revolt
Another Michael Cera movie, smh. We all hate that we love his movies. And here is yet another that we will all want to see, Youth in Revolt. In this movie, not only does Cera play his usual role as an awkward, pubescent teenager, but also that teenager’s bad ass alter-ego. Check out the trailer after the jump. (more…)
Bad Boys 3……?!

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are teamin’ up for a NEW Bad Boys film.
Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are in talks about making Bad Boys 3. There has been no confirmation on whether the film is a go, but if they know like we know, they’ll give the movie the green light. Bad Boys 2 grossed $273 million worldwide. As far as we know, the only hold up may be whether or not the studio will be able to meet Will Smith and producer Michael Bay’s salary requirements.
Law Abiding Citizen

The movie “Law Abiding Citizen” is a thriller featuring Gerard Butler and Jamie Foxx. The film tells the story of a man who seeks revenge on the killers of his family and the criminal justice system that did not serve them justice. It looks to be a horror-esque, Saw-type thriller towards the end, so I think this movie has alot to offer in terms of entertainment. The film opens October 16. Check out the trailer after the jump. (more…)
The Wolfman

This movie is a remake of the 1941 classic horror film of the same name. It features Academy Award-winning actor Benicio Del Toro (Traffic, 21 Grams, Che) as the title character. You pretty much know what to expect from a werewolf movie, but with a cast like this and a trailer so intense, this movie looks to be a hit. The film opens February 12, 2010. (Pushed back from its original November release date, bummer.)

Check out the trailer after the jump.
