As most of you may know from the California Fridays trailer last week, Alex King owner of California Fridays , had a fashion show Feb 15th. He displayed an array of moods and safari elements. Not bad for his first collection, from designing tee shirts with cheetah sleeves to mixing it up with a bit of street couture.

Pharrell and G-Star teams up for an environmental project, “RAW for the Oceans”. The goal of this project is to initiate cleaning plastic pollution from the world’s oceans. Their project will feature denim made of plastic yarn from materials removed from the ocean and sold in select G-Star RAW stores as an exclusive collection. Pharrell served as a co-designer of the new denim line. Its always great to see art changing the world for the greater good.
“Working with G-Star was an obvious choice, because they have a legacy of pushing the boundaries of fashion and denim forward,” Williams said. The collection will be released August 15, stay tuned!

As always, ahead of the game, Google never stops running! And we love it. After releasing Google Glass last year, you can simply guess where they’re taking their talents to next, and we’re not talking South Beach. Yes, a technological contact lens. Although it doesn’t serve the same purpose as Glass, this project is unique in its own way that measures glucose in tears using a wireless chip and miniaturized glucose sensor. While at a very early stage, Google hopes the technology could help people manage diabetes better. For those who were unaware, those diagnosed with diabetes in order to check their glucose levels are opted to prick their finger to complete a blood test. Google X works on extremely innovative, long term, but yet risky developments that may not become commercially successful but has extreme potential to change the way of living, for example- Google Glass, autonomous cars, and now this. Now that smart contact lens are being developed, imagine how much easier life would be? Check it out below!
Earlier in the week I met a guy by the name of Chris Wachtman who is a web developer, parkour enthusiast, and of course a 2014TransAmerica Cyclist. The guy damn near bikes everywhere. Chris is a guy who is really inspired by the art of movement and from that he is supporting a cause that fights MS. Multiple sclerosis or MS is a disease that affects the brain and spinal cord, resulting in loss of muscle control, vision, balance, and sensation such as numbness. With MS, the nerves of the brain and spinal cord are damaged by one’s own immune system. Chris hopes to raise the money by this summer, and then ride across Virginia and Colorado while posting updates through Google Glass. Feel free to make a donation or help spread the word, or both. We should all be thankful for the little things in life that we have and that others don’t, so please, just as Chris is doing, SUPPORT THE CAUSE and CLICK HERE!
