In case you missed a wild show Sunday night, the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards took place in Los Angeles where Kanye West was awarded the Michael Jackson ‘Video Vanguard Award’ in which Ye gave a speech that nobody will ever forget. Complex has the official transcript of Mr. West’s memorable words where he ended off by announcing his Presidential bid for the 2020 election! Watch the speech here.
Bro, bro, listen to the kids. Jeremy, I gotta put it down for a second. First of all, thank you Taylor for being so gracious and giving me this award this evening. Thank you. And I often think back to the first day I met you also. I think about when I’m in the grocery store with my daughter and I have a really great conversation about fresh juice at the… you know. And at the end they say, “Oh you’re not that bad after all. And like, I think about it sometimes it crosses my mind a little bit when I go to a baseball game and 60,000 people boo me. It crosses my mind a little bit.
And I think if i had to do it all again—what would I have done? Would I have worn a leather shirt? Would I have drank half a bottle of Hennessy and given the rest of it to the audience? Y’all know you drank that bottle, too. If I had a daughter at that time would I have went on stage and grabbed the mic from someone else’s? You know, this arena tomorrow is gonna be a completely different set up—some concert… This stage will be gone. After that night, the stage was gone but the effect that it had on people remained.
The problem was the contradiction. The contradiction is that I do fight for artists but in that fight, somehow, was disrespectful to artists. I didn’t know how to say the right thing, the perfect thing, I sat at the Grammys and saw Justin Timberlake and CeeLo Green lose. Gnarls Barkley and the [FutureSex/LoveSound] album, and bro, Justin I’m not trying to put you on blast but I saw that man in tears, bro. And I was thinking he deserved to win album of the year. And the small box that we are of entertainers of the evening, how could you explain that?
Sometimes I feel like you know all this shit they run about beef and all that, sometimes I feel like I died for the artist’s opinion, for the artist to have an opinion after they got successful. I’m not no politician bro, and look at that. You know how many times MTV ran that footage again? Because it got more ratings? Do you know how many times they announced Taylor was gonna give me this award? Because it got more ratings?
Listen to the kids, bro.
I still don’t understand award shows. I don’t understand how they get five people who work their entire life one sell records, sell concert tickets to come stand on a carpet and for the first time in they life be judged on a chopping block and have the opportunity to be considered a loser. I don’t understand it bro. I do not understand when the biggest album or the biggest video I don’t understand. I’ve been conflicted bro. I just wanted people to like me more. But fuck that, bro. 2015. I will die for the art for what I believe in and the art ain’t always gonna be polite. Y’all might be thinking right now, “I wonder did he smoke something before he came out here?” And the answer is yes, I rolled up a little something, I knocked the edge off. I don’t know what’s gonna happen tonight what’s gonna happen tomorrow bro but all I can say to my artists is just worry about how you feel at the time. I’m confident I believe in myself. We the millenials bro. This is a new mentality. We’re not gonna control our kids with brands. We’re not gonna tech low self esteem and hate to our kids. We’re gonna teach our kids that they can be something. that they can stand up for themselves. To believe in themselves and if my grandfather was here right now, he would not let me back down.
I don’t know what I’m finna lose after this it don’t matter though because it ain’t about me, it’s about new ideas bro people with ideas people who believe in truth. and yes, as you proabably could’ve guessed by this moment I have decided in 2020 to run for president.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, MTV original series, Punk’d, is set to make it’s way back on your television screens. This time around, the celebrity prank show is set to broadcast on BET. No details yet on who will be the host, as the original series casted actor, Ashton Kutcher, to help prank celebrities. Stay tuned for an official air date to be released.
MTV2 is taking it back to the late 90’s and new millennium with the revival of their gruesome comedic show, Celebrity Deathmatch. Originally aired in 1998, the show had a good run until it’s first cancellation in 2002. A few years later, the show was brought back and failed to last more than one season. Hoping to make a better run nearly a decade later, Hollywood Reporter states “Celebrity Deathmatch creator, Eric Fogel and Wasteland Entertainment are behind the new incarnation, with Chris McCarthy and Paul Ricci also on board”. Stay tuned for the release of an official air date.

Not too long after the show’s second season, rumors were floating that the Netflix original series, Orange Is The New Black, was being cancelled. Thankfully it wasn’t true because the series is back for its third season on June 12th with 14 brand new episodes. OITNB fans mark your calendars; June will be here before you know it.
BET’s The Game is finally set to end for good after the taping of their 9th season. The TV series originally aired on The CW back in 2006 and after 3 seasons, the show was cancelled in 2009. After a two year hiatus, BET decided to pick up the show in 2011 and the 4th season premiere drew in a record breaking 7.7 million viewers for BET. Things seemed to be looking up for the series, but after the main couple, Melanie (Tia Mowry Hardrict) and Derwin (Pooch Hall), left the show the ratings went down. It was very refreshing to see Lauren London and newcomer, Jay Ellis, take over as the new couple in Season 6 along with the arrival of Brandy as a permanent role.
It’s just like 106 & Park, things weren’t the same once Free & AJ left and the same goes for Melanie and Derwin. The football themed comedy drama appears to always have a long gap in between seasons and the 7th was their shortest, with only 10 episodes. It is hard for viewers to stay interested or keep up. Some fans didn’t like how the show became so dramatized and losing the live audience aspect. Nonetheless, the show is still taping for the remaining two seasons, and should set to air Season 8 in early 2015. Series creator, Mara Brock Akil, did an interview with BET.com stating… (more…)

Netflix’s most popular and number one original series, Orange Is The New Black, has finally premiered the second season today. This is probably the most genius idea Netflix had as the popular on demand internet streaming company, has had billion dollar success nearly a decade ago. The hit show has already been renewed for it’s third season prior to the premiere of the second one. Check out one of the stars from the series, Danielle “Taystee” Brooks, interviewed by The Breakfast Club (105.1FM) below. OITNB has been trending on the web for weeks leading up to the 2nd season premiere and it’s only just the beginning as we know it’s going to be another wild season ahead.
The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon did a segment on the Evolution of Hip-Hop Dancing. The Roots played the music as Jimmy Fallon and Will Smith acted out the various dances that have evolved over time. They went from ‘The Pop and Lock’ to ‘The Biz’ to ‘The Dirt off Your Shoulder’. This is a great thing to watch and reminisce on, especially in light of Black History Month. Check it out below:
“The Year Of The Pharrell” airs on Revolt TV on Sunday at 7pm EST
Kanye and Jimmy’s fued was pretty obvious when Jimmy did a spoof/parody of Ye’s Zane Lowe interview not too long after it released. They touched on that issue and much more, see part one below and part two after the break:
After 5 intense seasons, Breaking Bad, is finally coming to an end this season and is currently at its final episodes. However, great news has dropped as Better Caul Saul is a go as the official spinoff of the series. When the Saul Goodman character first became introduced in Breaking Bad, it definitely was a great humorous and drama filled side story of its own. We believe this spin off will do really well, especially since most of us aren’t ready to part with Heisenburg and Jessie Pickman just yet. Stay tuned for more details on the show and its premiere.

Pretty funny commercial, poking fun of the generic and common name that is ‘Michael Jordan’ and the attitudes of the public’s feelings on sports and players. Similar to the CBS show, Same Name…take a look at the commercial below:
In case you missed it, Kanye Went on a twitter ‘rant’ as many called it a few days ago. He basically spoke on the happenings of his DONDA fashion company in which his Kanye West clothing line is formated from along with his thoughts on getting to that place and recollection of many various memories and thoughts. While many enjoyed to get to know Kanye in his 86 tweets, others were pretty annoyed and made fun of him as most love to do. The next day, Jimmy Kimmel Live decided to poke fun at some of the tweets Ye published and created a Twitter Commercial for DONDA:
