College Bound Entertainment put together an event in Washington, D.C. called ‘The Session: CBE’s Guide To Cannabis‘ where spoiledBroke! attended to cover the 420 friendly festivity. The Session series is a host of creative platforms for cannabis professionals to inform and engage invited audiences with the advantages and wonders of the new Cannabis Industry in Washington, D.C. We have partnered with several cannabis experts and established business owners within the cannabis industry from the local area to launch the pilot event, The Session. The Session is designed to educate and entertain participants through a creative informational and social gathering in a safe, controlled setting. Terry Goodwin better known as LB is an upcoming rap artist born and raised in Washington DC. At the age of 12 LB realized he wanted to gear his talents towards music. LB wanted to express his self in way where he would be heard and understood. Inspired by artist such as Notorious BIG, 2Pac,Kendrick Lamar, SchoolBoy Q and Common all influence the style of music in which path he chooses to further his career in. Composing his thoughts and perceptions on life through his music, LB is an artist from the ground up. VIDEO: Lucid – Drive Back
The Dutch street-soul female duo, Lucid, are up and coming songstress’ who are prepping for the release of their album, Poisoned Paws. The two singers, Juliet and Janice, met in college and decided to join together musically in 2012. Here is an official music video from their upcoming album, “Drive Back”. Their sound is very soft but yet soulful much like Jhené Aiko; fans of hers should enjoy these two beauties. The album will be releasing November 11th. Tony’s Thrift is a brand created by Tony Logan. He is taking a different route that reminds us of our favorites The Brooklyn Circus and Pendleton, as it embodies a vintage classic feel that gives a timeless look. The niche of Tony’s Thrift are trunks. Not only are the trunks are a classic rare look in itself, some of the collections are where each trunk contains a package of items along with it. The second collection releasing from his trunk series titled, “Scent of Fall.” The trunk is inspired by the fall season from it’s unique smell and ambience that is different from the other seasons, hence the name 0f the collection. CAVIART is an urban-funk music duo comprising Dannie Phantom and V-Shawn. Hailing from Philadelphia, the duo met in the high school band sharing production tips and common likes of music. After years of collaboration and college experience Dannie & V-Shawn began to discover their own sound. The Garden EP is the debut project, wherein all songs are self produced, written and engineered. Each song represents a year’s worth of loving and learning, experiencing and experimenting, and ultimately finding the music within themselves. Their collective sound creates a hybrid genre influenced by equal parts 70’s funk, Philadelphia soul and hip-hop. Check out their new music video for their hit song “A Little Bit” below:
FASHION: Sweater Crop/Long Tee Shirt [Trend]
Fashion is always evolving and recycling trends is what America does. Long tees have been displayed by many hip hop stars, such as Kanye West and A$AP Rocky. Cropped sweaters have been worn by many females as well. Now it seems the new trend is to pair the two themes together to create an interesting look. Displayed are female (above) and male (below) versions of the trend. Are the trends better off being worn separately or fashion match?
EVENT: Anmlhse Release In Store Debut at Corsa (South Philly, PA)
Anmlhse is a brand based out of Philadelphia and had their debut release at Corsa, South St location. With a DJ spinning, it was a great atmosphere to walk around the skate shop and explore the clothes on display. Good vibes and good people. EVENT: $tuntLoco | Memorial Day Cookout + Concert
This past Sunday, $TUNTLOCO conducted a cookout and concert for the Memorial Day holiday at Philadelphia’s SilkCity. In the garden, DJ SYLO among others spinned on the ones and twos as people enjoyed the weather and food. It was a great atmosphere set for what was about to occur later on that night. People gathered to vibe to some great hip-hop performances put on by Philly artists. Check out some photos from the event and stay tuned for the video that is on its way.

mcml is a new clothing brand which stands for the creators name, Myles Christopher Merritt-Lee. He is an inspring upper echelon fashion house and has his first t-shirt is creatively designed with his logo on the bottom of the tee in the front along with a graphic on the back and ’93’ on the left sleeve, which represents the year he was born. Myles is from the DMV, but is currently away in Miami for college although that isn’t stopping him from launching this new brand. The rap group Status Gang, including Gutta Gabe and Luchini B are from Washington, DC. and are also apart of the Monopolybread Records (an Indy label in D.C.) roster which is headed by Bosco CEO and AB the President. Status originated in Benjamin Banneker High school as they were joking around; the meaning of status was to be similar to saying “that’s wassup”. Now it can be either a good or bad thing i.e #thatsthestatus or #notthestatus.
On October 25th,The Temple Takeover Show at the Arts Garage included a headline performance from Status Gang. Here is a video of the mini-movie below, directed by Oaklyn. (which is also featured on WorldStarHipHop)

The name of my line is Naked. People always ask me,”why is your line called Naked?”. A lot of my pieces are very revealing. I feel as though every female should embrace her body no matter what size or shape they are. The main purpose of my clothing line is to help women feel confident in their own skin. Every women should feel beautiful; inside and out. The recognition and level of success that I reached thus far as a new designer is absolutely amazing and I thank God everyday for giving me this opportunity. With hard work and dedication, I pray that I will one day be able to open my own boutique called Naked.
