The well-loved reality star from MTV‘s Real World/Road Rules Challenge series, Diem Brown, passed away Friday morning in New York City.
Last month, the MTV star revealed that she that the cancer that had been found in her stomach and colon in August had spread to her liver and lymph nodes. She had been posting many pictures on her Instagram account that showed the support she had from family and friends as her condition continued to worsen.
At 23, Diem was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer but beat it until its return in 2012. This was her third battle with the cancer and she had every intention to beat this fight once again. Diem also participated in Ovarian Cancer Awareness month back in September at the “Run For Her” 5k Run/Walk in New York City.
Robert Griffin III took part of the Make A Wish Foundation Program on Saturday and asked two cancer survivors to sign his cleats (shown above) and another survivor to sign his practice jersey. Check out what RGIII had to say about receiving the survivors autographs rather then giving them his:
“They don’t expect me to ask them for their autographs…It was more like, ‘OK, cool.’ Down the line hopefully they remember that and say I was their first autograph.”
“When I was growing up I always wanted to meet guys I looked up to, role models…If I’d have met Michael Jordan and he asked for my autograph there would have been a shock. It’s flipping the script a little bit, but I think it means something to them. If I’m their first autograph that’s an honor to me.”
