Streetwear brand, XLARGE, teams up with the legendary Japanese animated series, Dragon Ball Z, to create capsule collection that features a slew of graphic tee that showcases the franchise’s early sagas of Gohan as the Great Ape along with the one and only Frieza. Streetwear staple brands Diamond Supply Co. and Rocksmith come together for a second time, with a collaborative capsule entitled Superior Sight & Sound. The design concept is based on the aesthetic of ’90s-era blank audio cassettes — a summer mixtape created to graphically blend two brands with strong roots in music culture from opposite coasts. The summer capsule is comprised of two T-shirts, a snapback and matching shorts, with use of mesh in the detailing across the board, as well as reflective drawstrings. Atlanta-based hip hop producer and rising star Sonny Digital was selected to model the collection. French brand OLOW announced the launch of their capsule collection with illustrator and designer, Jean Jullien. The collection is a mix of the universe of the beach along with Jullien’s world, providing a series of illustrations both aesthetic and humorous. Jean presents the collab in a short video shot in London, which was produced by Santiago Arbelaez, seen below. This collaboration is very exciting as this is the first time that the 1950s cartoon has been incorporated into female streetwear. The collection features an tasteful approach to embodying the characters within the pieces, avoiding a tacky look, as it includes: a staple varsity jacket, graphic muscle tees, leggings, crewneck sweaters and more.
