Complex Magazine catches up with Justin Scott, better know as Big K.R.I.T. as he takes us back to his childhood home in Meridian, Mississippi for the first episode of Breaking Through.
COMPLEX magazine drops an exclusive A$AP Rocky documentary that breaks down the song that started the movement, Purple Swag’. Featured in the doc is fellow Mob members: A$AP Bari, A$AP Ferg, A$AP Nast, Chace Infinite and A$AP Ty Beats, as they chime in on the video, production and more. This doc release is perfect timing as he is gearing up for the release of his third studio album, At.Long.Last.A$AP, due out soon.
A$AP Rocky covers the April/May 2015 issue of Complex magazine. He shares his disappointments with his previous album, his current relationship status, the lack of respect within the Been Trill/Hood By Air beef, psychedelics, A$AP Yams and more. Peep an excerpt when he was asked about former girlfriend, Iggy Azalea:
OK, let’s go back to an old relationship: How do you feel about the criticism of Iggy Azalea for not being an “authentic” rapper?
That [situation with Iggy] is unfortunate because nobody wants to be portrayed that way. I’m quite sure she doesn’t. I think she works hard like the rest of us. Silly or not, 300 million people like to watch it on YouTube, so who the fuck are we to say anything?
So you don’t think the criticism is fair?
It comes with the game. If she fake on something, somebody is going to call her bluff. That’s life. I’m not looking at it from a standpoint of “I used to be boning this chick’s back out.” I’m looking at it [as] “She’s just a person.” You can’t bluff. You gotta just be 100. That’s all I could really say. The question is: Was she not being 100 about something?

Complex magazine does an amazing job with their most recent cover for the December/January 2015 issue. Just in time for Wale‘s new album, The Album About Nothing, which tributes the Jerry Seinfeld‘s ‘Seinfeld’ show. Remember that angry phone call by Wale, furious that his album didn’t make their Top 50 album list last year…well Complex decided to incorporate it within the cover story. Take a look:
Wale has had a rough relationship with COMPLEX. Have you heard the phone call he made to us last December?
JS: I love it. That was good entertainment.
W: It’s all an angle. I learned that from wrestling. It’s just like a story. My devious plot.
JS: All good entertainment.
W: [Laughs.] Well, at the moment it wasn’t entertainment.
Very clever. See more pictures and excerpts from the cover story inside… (more…)
