Chris Rock stops by The Breakfast Club to discuss his new film that he wrote and directed himself, Top Five, which hits theaters December 12th. DJ Envy was not present due to his “beef” with Chris from their daughters basketball game awhile back. Charlemagne Tha God and Angela Yee asked Chris about his thoughts on politics, staying relevant, Hollywood, reality tv and more. Kanye West and Jay-Z were fellow producers of the Top Five film and features stars such as Rosario Dawson, Gabrielle Union, Kevin Hart and more.
Chris Rock’s latest film, Top Five, is being co-produced by hip-hop brothers, Kanye West and Jay-Z. Chris Rock, who is the writer, director and star of the film, is even signing on The Roots’ Questlove, to serve as the film’s executive music producer. Deadline.com reports other stars featured in the movie include: Rosario Dawson, Gabrielle Union, Kevin Hart, Tracy Morgan, Cedric The Entertainer, J.B. Smoove, Sherri Shepherd, Anders Holm, Romany Malco, Leslie Jones, Michael Che, and Jay Pharoah. Stay tuned for the official theatre release date.
Wale had been signed to Jay-Z’s management company, Roc Nation, since 2009 but decided to parts ways and sign with 77 North Management. That company was started by tennis pro, Andy Murray, and manages LeBron James as well. Wale’s manager decided to focus on sports and he will still be apart of MMG where he will release his Album About Nothing project soon.
