“Reebok and Kendrick Lamar bring a joined vision of celebrating the limitless potential of youth through a short film created to pay homage to kids in Lamar’s hometown of Compton, CA. The video, “Reebok Presents Kendrick Lamar,” was directed by acclaimed director Anthony Mandler and was shot at locations that hold true meaning in Lamar’s life. A nod to his roots, the short film features today’s standouts at his alma mater, Centennial High School. The youth featured in this film are showcased to inspire the new generation to find their voice, and not to be afraid to become their best selves. Kendrick is named Rapper of the Year by GQ magazine in their latest December 2013 ‘Man of the Year’ issue. He has definitely made his mark in the industry and has been constantly doing work throughout the year, especially with the release of his g.o.o.d. kid, M.A.A.D City album. The project alone has been marked as a classic already and this cover is the icing on the cake for a perfect year for K.Dot. We are too excited for what Kendrick and the TDE crew has in store for the forthcoming year. Check out a freestyle he did for the magazine below:
After Ye’s rant and Pusha’s album listening party, it kind of had everyone wondering what My Name Is My Name really sounds like. Funkmaster Flex of Hot 97 received the okay to drop it on the radio yesterday, so we have it here for you. Pusha T is really one of the most underrated hip hop artists to date and it’s unfortunate that he just isn’t as marketable as his fellow G.O.O.D. music label mates, especially since he’s been mainstream most of his career. We all know Mr. West believes in him, we just hope the fans show in prove as well. Make sure everyone supports Pusha on October 8th for his album. Meanwhile, take a listen to “Nosetalgia” featuring the hot Compton MC, K. Dot, produced by Nottz.
